Membrane Press technology was first used in Malaysia about 20 years ago. At that time, both the Membrane Press machines and rubber sheets were imported from Europe. In Malaysia, most companies that used this technology were importing from Germany.

As usage of this technology increased, customers began to look for membranes which were more affordable and yet could withstand higher temperatures and pressure. In short, better membranes which cost lesser. As research and investment costs were high in this industry, not many were willing to take risk. We at Sail Crest Rubber Membrane Sdn Bhd (SCRM) rose to the challenge.

Introduction
Our company is part of the Sail Crest Group of companies. We specialize in producing silicone rubber membrane (SCRM Membranes) since 1999 for all makes of membrane press machines. Today, our silicone membranes are widely accepted and used both in veneer and PVC foil lamination.

As an affiliate member of Malaysian Timber Council (MTC), we fully understand the needs of wood working companies. In Malaysia, we are the only local manufacturer supplying of membranes to engineered door manufacturers, kitchen cabinet makers and audio-speaker box producers. These products are of export quality. Currently, SCRM membranes are exported to Austria, China, Columbia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
